Maintaining your home clean and fresh can be quite a struggle, so we often turn to harsh commercial products that will get rid of the dirt fast. We often dismiss the fact that many of these cleaning miracles contain volatile substances. Our home may be sparkling clean, but it also becomes toxic. The solution is easy, inexpensive and it’s hiding in your kitchen. The good natural cleaning kit includes vinegar, salt, lemon juice and baking soda. They can clean basically everything – from your furniture and floor to your pottery.
The easiest way to clean your windows and mirrors in an all – natural way is by mixing 4 tablespoons of lemon juice with a half gallon of water. Use an old cotton shirt or any lint – free material to wipe the surface. Newspapers are also an alternative but they can turn your cleaning routine into a mess.
In order to remove stains, just rub a cloth dipped with lemon juice directly over the tainted area. This is a particularly effective on vinyl items such as recliners and tile flooring. If you have never come across any annoying greasy spots, chances are you don’t ever set foot in the kitchen. For the rest, getting rid of the grease is a day – to – battle. Solve the issue by using baking soda and a small amount of water. Crate a substance that resembles a paste. Spread it over the greasy surface, wait for about 10 minutes and then rub it with a sponge. This is an all purpose good and reliable cleaners and deodorizer that is ideal for your kitchen counters, appliances and refrigerator.
One good reason to replace the conventional metal polishes is that most of them are ammonia – based. Their greener alternatives are vinegar, salt and flour. Make a paste by using equal parts of the ingredients and cover the brass or cooper items. Wait until it dries out and then wipe it off gently to clean it. For lightly stained cooper items you can use only vinegar. This ingredient is perfect for cleaning the floors of your house. Mix vinegar and baking soda and you will have the perfect product to wash the shower tiles or to unclog tub drains.
You can keep your home clean and be green at the same. Natural products can be just as effective as the harsh cleaning products. Next time before jumping on some of those toxic cleaners, open your pantry and prepare your own solution.
